Metagrowth uses the data of the component concentrations in known culture media to provide appropriate ranges of nutriment concentrations when users intend to design new culture media.
Currently we use the data for the following complex culture media for fastidious parasitic bacteria: The components in these complex media can be classified into several categories according to their putative principal roles in bacterial growth. As shown in the figure below, the concentrations of the chemical components largely varies between different categories, but rather limited in a narrower range within a category (more detail can be seen in another Figure). The range for each category is used to suggest appropriate samplings of nutriment concentrations.
